A continuous wave, engineered to spec
Ripplefold drapery replaces the pleated heading with a snap carrier tape that clips into evenly spaced carriers on a traverse track. The result is a soft, uninterrupted S wave that stacks tightly, traverses quietly, and holds its shape across very wide openings. It is the heading we recommend most often for contemporary elevations, window walls, and any panel that will be motorized.
Every ripplefold order is engineered before it is cut. We confirm the track and carrier spacing, calculate finished panel width against your fullness, set return and overlap allowances, and railroad or seam the goods so the wave lands where the design intends. Sheers, linens, wools, and performance textiles are all fabricated with the same tolerances.

60 percent fullness
The most relaxed wave. Best for sheers and wide window walls where a light, airy drape is the goal.
80 percent fullness
Our most requested spec. A balanced, consistent wave that reads tailored in both sheer and drapery weights.
100 percent fullness
A deeper, more sculptural wave for heavier fabrics, formal rooms, and tall ceiling elevations.

What is ripplefold drapery?
Ripplefold drapery is a track based heading system where the fabric is sewn to a snap carrier tape and clipped into evenly spaced carriers on a traverse rod. Instead of pleats, the panel forms a continuous soft wave from end to end. It is the cleanest, most contemporary way to hang a large drapery panel and it traverses more smoothly than a pleated heading.
What is the difference between ripplefold and wave drapery?
They describe the same look. Ripplefold is the Kirsch trademarked term for the snap tape and carrier system, while wave is the language many European hardware lines use. The fabrication method is the same: no pleats, a continuous S curve, and a track that controls the spacing.
How much fabric does ripplefold drapery take?
Fullness is set by the carrier spacing, not by a pleat calculation. We fabricate at 60, 80, 100, or 120 percent fullness. At 80 percent fullness, a panel finishes at roughly 1.8 times the rod width, so a 120 inch rod needs about 216 inches of finished panel width before hems and returns.
Does ripplefold drapery require special hardware?
Yes. Ripplefold requires a traverse rod or track with snap carriers set to the fullness you specify. It cannot be hung on rings or a decorative pole. We specify compatible Kirsch, Rowley, and Orion systems with the order so the carrier spacing matches the fabricated panel.
Can ripplefold drapery be motorized?
Ripplefold is the best pleat style for motorization. The carriers glide evenly and the wave stays consistent through every cycle. We integrate Lutron, Somfy, and other automation platforms on single panels, pairs, and multi track elevations.
Do you fabricate ripplefold drapery for the trade only?
Roseworks Fabrication is a trade only workroom. We fabricate for interior designers, architects, AV integrators, and builders. Retail clients are welcome at our sister showroom, Blinds Couture, in Denver.
